A disproportionate number of the poor, young, Latinx/Hispanic, in fair or poor health, or having a chronic health condition, and/or residing in the South, were uninsured for a year or more.

When comparing those with coverage obtained through the individual marketplace to those with coverage through their employment, the percentage of uninsured individuals rose from 29% to 44%.

According to the poll, these hidden expenses are having an impact on patient care. 46% of respondents indicated they had missed or postponed care due to cost, while 42% said they were having trouble paying their medical bills or were currently in the process of repaying off medical debt. Nearly half (49%) of all individuals, including 68% of low-income adults, 69percent of total of Black adults, and 63% of Mix is most commonly executed adults, indicated they would not be able to settle for an unexpected $1,000 hospital expenses within 30 days.

Patients save costs by not seeing the doctor when they were ill, skipping a suggested follow-up appointment or test, to not see a specialist when advised, or not completing a prescription.

Voters in large numbers believe that the president and government should prioritise health care: Republicans, 68% of Democrats, and 55% of independents.
